AI will replace some architects. Not the ones using it properly!

It will replace the ones who treat it like a shortcut, not a skill.

Social media would have us believe that our jobs as architects and interior designers are going to be replaced by AI agents, and that Nano Banana Pro is going to become the standard where clients just chat with AI and generate their homes.

Unfortunately, it’s partly true.

AI agents are becoming increasingly useful for designers, but currently they still require a lot of direction. The power of the designer can be amplified dramatically with these tools, making design decisions faster, more effective and ultimately more creative.

That said, if you expect AI to do the job for you, the tool is probably not for you. AI is currently more akin to early CAD or Photoshop. It’s powerful, but requires some dedication to become proficient. Once you understand the capabilities of the models and how to work with them, you can really push the boundaries of what’s possible in a short period of time.

At Fenestra, we’ve been working on a new tailored version of the platform that’s even more powerful than before, with a completely new interface. It’s more professional by nature, has more capability, and is more enjoyable to use.
